About this class

Course Description Create Your Own Graphic Novel: Ages 9-12 (Morning Session) If you like drawing cartoons and writing stories or are curious about how to begin, this fun and fast-paced course is for you. From basic to more advanced projects, campers dive into the principles of storytelling and illustrating graphic novels, and use this knowledge to create and illustrate stories of their own. Recommended for young creatives who wish to develop their skills in drawing, narrative, visual storytelling into artistic and imaginative graphic novels. At the end of the week, students will have their own graphic novel to share with family and friends! Diorama and Set Building: Ages 9-12 (Afternoon Session) Step into the world of miniature worlds and creative set design and explore how to build detailed and imaginative dioramas and sets using a variety of materials like cardboard, paint, fabric, and clay. Students learn techniques for designing and constructing mini environments, from magical landscapes to urban scenes. With guidance and inspiration, they create mini-worlds, paying attention to detail and design. By the end of the week, campers have a collection of impressive dioramas and sets that showcase their creativity and skill in bringing miniature scenes to life! IMPORTANT: $40 Materials Kit: Students should purchase the relevant Materials Kit with enrollment of this course which provides students with course materials required for participation. All students enrolled in Summer Youth Camps must submit the following packet of Summer Youth Camp Child Pickup Authorization prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this. Note(s): Full-day camps include lunch supervision and outside activities between 12:15pm and 12:45pm daily.
